DC Electronics Contactless Torque Sensor (CTS) is designed for inline integration with steering columns, providing real-time torque data with high accuracy. It transmits two 0V to 5V analog torque signals, making it ideal for vehicle data logging or direct connection to power steering ECUs. With a torque rating of -20 to +20Nm and 1000% overload protection, this IP67-rated sensor ensures reliable performance in demanding automotive applications.
Typical applications of the Contactless Torque Sensor include:
Drive-by-wire steering for autonomous vehicle prototypes
Retrofitting EPAS to vehicles without power steering
ADAS and autonomous driving research platforms
Motorsport and specialty vehicle steering assistance
Shuttle, delivery and low-speed autonomous vehicle actuation
EPAS15 CTS or EPAS16 CTS
What is the Contactless Torque Sensor?
DC Electronics Contactless Torque Sensor (CTS) is designed for inline integration with steering columns, providing real-time torque data with high accuracy. It transmits two 0V to 5V analog torque signals, making it ideal for vehicle data logging or direct connection to power steering ECUs.
Can the Contactless Torque Sensor be controlled by an autonomous driving stack?
Yes. The Contactless Torque Sensor accepts steering commands over CAN Bus, so a drive-by-wire or autonomous driving controller can command it directly while the mechanical input shaft still allows a human driver to steer manually as a fallback.
Where is the Contactless Torque Sensor available?
