Miniature Single-Axis Gyroscope with 1°/hr Bias Instability
Silicon Sensing CRG21 is a miniature single-axis MEMS gyroscope with both analogue and digital outputs, built on the company’s proprietary cos²θ ring MEMS structure and responding to rate about the out-of-plane z-axis. It delivers 1°/hr bias instability and 0.2°/√hr angular random walk with a digital resolution of 0.03125°/s over SPI®, and needs no calibration in the host system. Two auxiliary analogue-to-digital inputs let a designer digitise accelerometers or further gyros through the same part, so a multi-axis sensor cluster can be built without additional conversion. The sensor weighs 0.8 g in a compact ceramic LCC surface-mount package and runs from -40°C to +105°C.

What is the CRG21 Single-Axis MEMS Gyroscope?
Silicon Sensing CRG21 is a miniature single-axis MEMS gyroscope with analogue and digital outputs, offering 1°/hr bias instability, 0.2°/√hr angular random walk and 0.03125°/s digital resolution from a 0.8 g ceramic LCC package, with two auxiliary ADC inputs for multi-axis clusters.
What should I look for when selecting a sensor like the CRG21 Single-Axis MEMS Gyroscope?
Bias instability, angular random walk, bandwidth and rate range determine fitness for your application — see the specifications above. CRG21 is offered in three standard bandwidth and rate-range configurations, and both are factory programmable if none of the three fits.
